Privacy Policy

The short version

PalmaClip does not collect anything about you. There is no account, no sign-up and no server belonging to us. Your clips are stored on your own device and, if you enable syncing, in your own private iCloud. We cannot read them.

What the app stores, and where

• On your device. The clips you save, held in a private container shared between the app, the keyboard and the share extension so they can all show the same history. On a Mac, in the Mac app's own private container.
• In your iCloud, only if syncing is on. Clips are written to the private database of your own iCloud account. That database belongs to you. It is not readable by us and not readable by other users.
• Your settings. Small preferences such as your chosen options, kept on the device, and the date your first week started, kept in your own iCloud so that reinstalling continues the same week.

What is never collected

• No analytics, no usage statistics, no crash reporting service.
• No advertising identifiers and no tracking of any kind.
• No name, email address, phone number or location.
• No contents of your clips. They never reach us.

The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising software, and the keyboard extension contains no networking code whatsoever.

The keyboard and Full Access

Enabling Full Access lets the PalmaClip keyboard read the clip history you have already saved on your own device, which is the only way it can paste it for you. Nothing you type is recorded, and nothing is transmitted. Because the keyboard has no networking code, it has no means of sending anything anywhere.

The Mac app and your clipboard

PalmaClip for Mac watches the clipboard while it is running and saves the text you copy into your history. That is what a Mac clipboard manager does, and macOS allows it. On iPhone and iPad it is not possible, and PalmaClip there saves only when you ask it to.

It saves text only. It skips anything an app marks as concealed, which is how password managers flag a copied password. What it saves is kept exactly like the rest of your history: on your Mac, and in your private iCloud if syncing is on. Nothing is sent to us. Quitting PalmaClip from its menu stops it watching, and it starts at login only if you turn that on.

Purchases

PalmaClip Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

PalmaClip is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your control

You can delete any clip, or all of them, from inside the app at any time. Deleting your clips removes them from the device and from your iCloud copy. Turning off syncing stops anything new being written to iCloud. Deleting the app removes its on-device data; to remove the iCloud copy as well, clear your history before deleting.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes what it stores, this page changes at the same time and the date above is updated.
