The two iPad shortcuts

PalmaClip adds its actions to the Shortcuts app automatically. Two of them are worth assembling into keyboard chords, because with a Magic Keyboard attached the iPad keyboard extension is out of reach and these become the fastest way to save and paste.

Common questions

Why does the keyboard ask for Full Access?

A keyboard extension cannot read anything your app has saved unless you grant Full Access. PalmaClip needs it purely to read your own clip history out of the shared container on your device so it can paste it. It is not used to send anything anywhere. The keyboard contains no networking code at all, so there is nothing for it to send data to.

Why does PalmaClip not save clips in the background?

iOS does not allow any app to read the clipboard while it is in the background. This is an Apple privacy restriction and it applies to every clipboard app, not only this one. Any app claiming otherwise on iPhone or iPad is describing something different from what it does. PalmaClip saves a clip when you bring the app forward, use the share sheet, use the keyboard, or run one of the shortcuts above.

How does syncing work?

Your clips sync through your own iCloud account, using the private database that only you can read. They are not copied to any server belonging to us, because there is no such server. If you sign out of iCloud, syncing stops and your clips stay on the device.

What is the free limit?

The free version keeps your most recent 50 clips. PalmaClip Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the limit. It is a purchase, not a subscription, and it covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Settings inside PalmaClip and choose Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.

How do I delete a clip, or all of them?

Swipe a clip to delete it. To remove everything, open Settings inside PalmaClip and choose to clear the history. Clearing removes the clips from the device and from your iCloud copy.
